We are Carina and Chris. We met in San Diego in 2005, and during our time together, we have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful countries. In 2018, we purchased a pop-up camper for our truck and fell head over heels in love with overlanding and its community. Since then, we’ve dreamed of going full-time, and in 2025, we made that dream a reality!
Carina
Carina was born in Argentina and moved to San Diego during elementary school. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and worked at non-profit organizations for many years. Carina now edits our YouTube Videos, loves to cook, and is obsessed with lighthouses.
Chris
Chris is a native Californian who worked in sales for many years. He loves the challenge of driving any kind of vehicle in any country, loves catching baseball games, and is forever on the hunt for the best tacos or burritos wherever he goes.
Henri (2010-2025)
Henri was our fur baby who joined us on our adventures until the very end. He will forever be remembered for his love of walks and the beach.
Our values
When we travel, whether it be near or far, we go to experience the place as the locals do, hence our name, momentary locals. It is our philosophy and mindset for how we live our lives and how we travel.
