We are Carina and Chris. We met in San Diego in 2005, and during our time together, we have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful countries. In 2018, we purchased a pop-up camper for our truck and fell head over heels in love with overlanding and its community. Since then, we’ve dreamed of going full-time, and just recently, we made that dream a reality!
Carina
Carina was born in Argentina and moved to San Diego during elementary school. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and worked at non-profit organizations for many years. Carina loves to cook, is a fitness fanatic, and is obsessed with lighthouses.
Chris
Chris is a native Californian who works in tech sales. He loves the challenge of driving any kind of vehicle in any country, loves catching baseball games, and is forever on the hunt for the best tacos or burritos wherever he goes.
Henri
Henri is our fur baby that we adopted when he was about 2 years old. He is mixed breed with some Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd. We adore our him and are so happy to have him join us on our adventures in our new rig!
Our values
When we travel, whether it be near or far, we go not to be tourists, but to experience the place as the locals do, hence our name, momentary locals. It is our philosophy and mindset for how we live our lives and how we travel.
