Fill your life with experiences, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show.”
-Unknown
I’d like to think it’s common to feel a sort of heaviness and depression when having to return from vacation back to your ‘normal’ life. However, this time feels different. It’s as if something was awakened inside me during this trip, and now I cannot simply return to the same life I led. I have been shown a secret, and I cannot pretend I don’t know about it or forget. This past week, living off-grid in our little camper has revealed a simpler, and in many ways, a more meaningful way to live my life. I don’t want to come back to the complexity and ugliness of society. I enjoy being on the road because it seems you see the best of people and humanity, unlike back at home, where the news and politics are a constant source of crippling depression and anxiety about the state of the world.
